If you come to Cozumel, Iguanas is a must stop, Family owned and run, food is purchased at the market each morning which is why they can not guarantee an opening time but is fresh from farm to plate that day which is why it will be the greenest guacamole you will see and taste, Habanero's are grown in the back yard and the habanero sauce is the best you will ever taste, not set your mouth on fire but the flavor is amazing. If you happen to stay at the allegro and have been eating the food prepared there this might actually change your mind about returning to Cozumel. It also helps they make amazing margaritas and serve $1 beers. They will not disappoint!

Go here. Authentic local seafood. Shrimp ceviche and sautéed conch and octopus with chips/guacomole/pico de gallo. After 5 days of resort food at the Allegro Comuzel, we crossed the street 100 meters and had the best food and margaritas of the week. Family owned with mom in the kitchen and son making the best margaritas. We got complimentary reposado tequila shots. Great plantain banana dessert. The fish is so fresh that the day we went and the weather prevented fisherman to go out that day they didn’t have fish of the day. That’s impressive. No need to go downtown for the best seafood. We really enjoyed this place. They offer food and drinks. It is open and airy. This is a good place to stop if you are driving around the island or want to walk from a close by resort. It is very safe. We did not eat, but got coconut drinks and swam in the pool.

Lovely little shaded & open-air restaurant right off the road. We walked over from our resort looking for a little peace and quiet. Food was GREAT, staff was very friendly and accommodating! Definitely recommend trying this place, especially if you're staying at Allegro or Occidental

If you are staying at Alegro Cozumel, the resort does not serve food from 10 am to 12 pm. However, there is a fantastic place nearby where you can get some delicious tacos during that time. Just a tip: the tacos come with flour tortillas, but if you prefer corn tortillas, simply ask for them. I really enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant and the prices were great.

The food was absolutely delicious. The bartender is beautiful and wonderful and so attentive to whatever we wanted. She made excellent margaritas. My friend and I ordered tacos and they were so good! Freshly made hot sauces were so amazing that we bought some to bring home on the plane and they made it home with me! Everything was freshly made, limes freshly squeezed in front of us for margaritas, Pico was So good! There's a little pool and some space out in front and little seating outside as well as inside. They have panels that open up most days and let the sun shine in. This was a nice surprise across from the allegro all inclusive. While the food at the allegro was also amazing, We found ourselves at iguana's several times for the delicious food and cocktails. Highly, a highly recommend!
